Photography is the process and art of recording pictures by means of capturing light on a light-sensitive medium, such as a film or an electronic sensor. STEPHENCARR.NET offers a variety of services including photo re-touching, image overlays, individual or private photo sessions, headshots and portraits. Below is a before and after example of a cleaned up group portrait.
Line art is any image that consists of distinct straight and curved lines placed against a (usually plain) background, without gradations in shade (darkness) or hue (color) to represent two-dimensional or three-dimensional objects. Line art can use lines of different colors, although line art is usually monochromatic.
Line art emphasizes form and outline, over color, shading, and texture. However, areas of solid pigment and dots can also be used in addition to lines. The lines in a piece of line art may be all of a constant width (as in some pencil drawings), of several (few) constant widths (as in technical illustrations), or of freely varying widths (as in brush work or engraving). Another aspect of line art is vector graphics. Vector graphics is the use of geometrical primitives such as points, lines, curves, and shapes or polygon(s), which are all based upon mathematical equations, to represent images in computer graphics.
Vector graphics formats are complementary to raster graphics, which is the representation of images as an array of pixels, as it is typically used for the representation of photographic images. There are instances when working with vector tools and formats is best practice, and instances when working with raster tools and formats is best practice. There are times when both formats come together. An understanding of the advantages and limitations of each technology and the relationship between them is most likely to result in efficient and effective use of tools.
Other photographic examples include photo meshing and image overlays. With this technique you can duplicate either an object or a subject in a shot and then mesh them together giving you a photo that would otherwise be impossible. Example Left: Whenever you need to take a photo and mesh it with another image it takes a lot of careful work. Image editing encompasses the processes of altering images, whether they be digital photographs, traditional analog photographs, or illustrations. Traditional analog image editing is known as photo retouching, using tools such as an airbrush to modify photographs, or editing illustrations with any traditional art medium. Graphic software programs, which can be broadly grouped into vector graphics editors, raster graphics editors, and 3d modelers, are the primary tools with which a user may manipulate, enhance, and transform images. Many image editing programs are also used to render or create computer art from scratch.
STEPHENCARR.NET also specializes in full screen high definition virtual tours. The below is an example of one of our quicktime virtual reality 360 tours that we have created for a previous client.
Our newest piece of artwork is an advertisement done for a green client wanting to promote their city in a creative and positive light. The piece of work below is a great example of graphic design that included overlays, cut outs, shadow casting, cloning and other various techniques.
